Scottish Special Needs Judo Group

The Scottish SN Judo Group was established in 2004 to provide extra training and competition opportunities for judo players with special needs (physical, sensory or learning disabilities). The group meets for monthly training sessions and travel to competitions together. Have a look at the calendar page for training dates and upcoming competitions.

The coaches are all volunteers and the training session mat fees are used to subsidise the programme of activities. These activities include participation in events held throughout the UK and Europe and an annual Christmas awards dinner.

Group members have been very successful in winning medals at Scottish Championships, British Championships, European Judo-for-all Championships, and Special Olympics National Games. Teams regularly represent the group at events held in Holland and Italy, and in 2007 two members participated in the Special Olympics World Games held in Shanghai, China. Have a look at the results page to see how we got on at recent competitions.

For more information about the group have a look at the about page and find out what is currently happening on the news page.
